the design process

Remember when you were fresh out of design school, and wanted to change the world? Well, that kinda doesn't always happen.

good one...

but as an eternal developer , i think 'design' and all is nothing but frills.. :P
i mean who cares how the applications "looks" ... it should "function" properly.. :D

see, thats where the problem lies. Most developers think that. But you are designing for the users, not for yourself.
also design is not just colours..._sigh_
don't get me started, Sn :)

@aakash: its pretty much always the case :)

Nice one.. though as usual, is a lil pessimistic :) ... things necessarily aren't always so bad..

This is my life!

Shoot me.

@Saad: I think all designers could identify with this a little bit :)

@Anonymous: maybe a bit exaggerated, but its almost true !

And then the client like me shreds the app pointing it to not be upto the business requirement, following which the developers and designers duke it out in a no-holds barred bare-knuckle fistfight.
It all cools down after a still beatingheart is offered at the client's altar.

But seriously developers left to their own designs have saddled me with columns of links on a (sic) fluoroscent green background which could melt your eyes.

What the world needs (besides free chicken and love) is a saner approach to designing interfaces.
