Maybe the reason for his unhappy look is this: when he entered the mall he realised he was under-dressed, and seeing little girls covertly sketching him made him even more self-conscious and embarrassed.

Reminds me of me. But I'm not unhappy. I only look unhappy. So maybe he is OK too.

this was a terribly racist book called 'Kimono' by John Paris. I hated it so much that I chopped it up.
